Puzzle Features
With a single list of words you can make a wide variety of different puzzles.
You have control over the puzzles. The buttons below show all the options for your puzzle. By selecting a combination of options you create a new and unique word search.
Remember that each of the 2000 word lists can be made and remade in each style.
Puzzle Shapes
The shape of the puzzle is how the letters are laid out. Word searches are often a square, but Wordsearch Wizard gives you many different layouts.

The words to be found can run in a number of directions. You can choose a preset for a particular shape, or set the probability of directions yourself.  |
There are 5 standard sizes for each puzzle style, or you can choose a custom size yourself. The maximum size for a square grid is 40 by 40 letters.

Word Paths
Word searches usually have words positioned along a straight line. Wordsearch Wizard also allows non-linear paths for words. You can use more than one path type in a single puzzle.

You can choose how much the puzzle words overlap each other: none, occasional, some, lots, and maximum overlapping.

After the words have been placed other letters are placed, to fill up the grid. Wordsearch Wizard lets you choose how the fill is done: no fill, English language letter frequency, random letters, letters from the puzzle words, snipits from words, or from a custom list of letters.

The puzzle words' order can be the same or different on each puzzle. You can also use various types of cloze statements, sentances with the puzzle words in them, or have clues for the words.  |
The puzzle words can have their letters mixed up on the bottom of the puzzle. For example 'onion soup' might be give as: onion soup, ionon oups, iOnon uSop, oinnO Supo, noion upos, or oonni oups, depending on the button.
